LARGE TRADITIONAL country house in Central Bulgaria. 3-storey split-level house, situated in a superior village near Tryavna.The village, which has a rich and interesting history used to be a stop over point on the main trade route through the mountains to Turkey from North.This house is one of many in the village, that had a pub and guest rooms, and was frequented by travellers and traders during 18th and 19th centuries, when Bulgaria was ruled bu the Turks. Many of the houses in the village have been restored to their former glory and there is currently available a European grant of 70% towards the cost of such renovations. Access to the village is by a smooth tarmac road from Tryavna and there is a woodland trail to Bojenci ( Another resort village with traditional atmosphere, very popular in Bulgaria). Solidly built in stone and oak timbers, the house has been partially renovated, including a new tiled roof.
